Underfloor Heating is an approved Green Deal measure under the Building Services Mechanical category.
What is Underfloor Heating?
A good time for people to consider having under-floor heating installed in their home would be when they are replacing a heating system, undergoing renovation work or building from scratch.
Underfloor Heating can be especially as the heat from an under-floor system goes up the centre of the room giving occupants a greater sense of warmth for much less energy input than with radiators. This is because the heat from radiators tends to travel up the walls and collect in the roof space. As the floor temperature is much lower than conventional radiators, (35oC compared to a radiator which runs at 75 oC) convection currents are minimised and less draughts will be apparent.
Under-floor heating is an attractive way to reduce energy bills and carbon emissions as it gives a very even temperature and improves comfort conditions as people are sensitive to radiant heat, so it is possible to have the house a couple of degrees lower in temperature than would be possible with conventional radiator use.
